The scientific committee has been established as an advisory body for the official events of the UPOA. It is constituted by members of the UPOA executive, as well as experts, to enhance and broaden the scope of the scientific content of the official events of the UPOA.

The main activities of the Scientific Committee are to develop and coordinate the scientific programs and recommend methods to provide a forum for sharing knowledge and experience. The recommendations of the Scientific committee are binding on the organising committees of the various UPOA events.
